The Ashton Memorial is a 150 feet tall folly built in Williamson Park in Lancaster between 1907 and 1909 by the millionaire industrialist Lord Ashton as a memorial to his wife Jessy, at a cost of £87000 (the equivalent of £10.5 million in 2023). This stunning wedding venue can accommodate up to 120 guests. Ceremonies are conducted by Lancashire Registration Service and the venue staff look after guests throughout the ceremony and afterwards. The Ashton Memorial is undoubtedly one of my favourite wedding venues. The steps outside are perfect for Family Group photos and the building makes a spectacular backdrop for portraits of the bride and groom.
